Morocco's Gun Laws

Morocco - didn't they film Black Hawk Down there? I heard they had to account for every piece of expended brass because no civilian ownership of any firearm or munition is alloweed.

Generally repressive in Marakesh, Rebat, Casablanca. My neighbor is from there, and according to him, no such thing as legal handgun ownership, though shotguns, pistol caliber carbines are OK in rural areas. It is a fairly corrupt place, though, and you can buy whatever you need, permit-wise, with a bit of reseach and 'grease'

Further south, (well away from the coast and the 'authorities',)anything goes. It's still pretty tribal (Berber) and wild.

My co-worker just returned from Morocco last week.

He states, it is not what you know, its who you know and how much money you have. "How much" may be out of your means depending on who you don't know, skin color, religion, and country of origin (USA being the most expensive).

He described the govt. as a giant pyramid scam. Must pay-off lower local officials to get an audience with with higher officials, who in turn accept your payment to meet with regional officials, and so on....

All of this takes time (must nurture relationships before any action is take) and may take several months to get the needed paper work to own a firearm.

Sorry this does not sound helpful,

Morocco is like most third world countries.

Just buy a damn weapon on the blackmarket and carry enough cash to bribe "whoever" might care that you have it.

Been there, done that. $100 US will get you out of most ANY trouble a single time.
