Ok if you read my last post you guys said I needed a Mosin Nagant. So I bought one this last weekend.
Laminated 91/30
I'm going to clean the rifle but I can't figure out how to remove the bolt.
Any advice for a newly purchased Mosin.
It doesn't appear to have any cosmoline on it.

Simple as pie. Open and assure the rifle is empty. Pull the bolt-to the rear as you pull the trigger. Done.

Re: advice, verify if the ammunition that you use is corrosive or not. If it is, you must clean the barrel as soon as possible when done at the range. The best cleaner available to stopping the corrosive salts is Windex with ammonia. The ammonia will "kill" the salts. Then, wipe it out real well, and apply an oil.

I strongly suggest an extremely thorough clean prior to using it. Even a slight amount of cosmoline would cause you dangerous problems. have fun with it. They are awesome rifles.

Edit to ask: Do you know how to set the manual safety on the Mosin? When the rifle is cocked, pull rearward on the cocking button (extremely stiff) and turn it left. Here is a nice Mosin website:
