Russian 91/30 Mosin Nagant. Tula factory marked 1938 with Finnish SA in a box. This is a Finnish capture Winter War or Continuation war capture rifle. Captured by the Fins and then rearsenaled and reissued to Finnish Troops.
Laminated wood stock, some matching parts...looks like the bottom of the ammunition magazine has a different serial number and the butt plate. Bolt is matching with "TULA" factory markings. Hooded front sight with cleaning rod. Small star on most small metal parts. OK I know your gonna ask so I gave $80.00 for it.

Great price for a great rifle. I have four model 91/30 Finn capture rifles - a 1930, 1937, 1938, and a 1940. All are great shooters.

It looks like a potbelly stock to me, not laminated. I see your photos and yes that IS a Finnish stock. You can see the finger joint. They also put hangers on it and oiled it with that characteristic pine tar. Does your receiver have the shims in it?

Yes, they're under the receiver where the screws come through. If your rifle has them it's a sure sign the Finns did at least some basic accurizing. The full story on the Finnish 91/30's is still being put together, but it appears they didn't rebarrel all of them. If the existing rifled action was accurate enough it might be left intact. You may have a rare example of a Soviet rifle that passed Finnish muster. Check inside the stock and see.
