Mosin muzzle brakes?

Hey guys does anybody out there know of any good muzzle brake for the mosin m38s I find them for the m44 and 91/30s all the time but I own an m38 thusly I need one for that, but I haven't been able to find any for any ideas?

Best idea would to get the end of the barrel turned and threaded for the 14x1 right hand thread common to AK-pattern rifles. Then it opens you up to all kinds of brakes and flash hiders from the AK rifles. Just make sure to get one in 7.62 and NOT a -74 brake in 5.45.

Any good gunsmith should be able to turn and thread the barrel for a reasonable cost.

If you're concerned with only reducing felt recoil, I'd suggest just getting a good recoil pad to replace the shoulder-bashing metal buttplate.

Thanx man I've actually thought about this but unfortunately I live in Cali and this place is mostly run by haters so that particular mod is illegal, I think I'm gonna have to just fab something up cause I can't really find much out there

I thought the Cali AWB didn't really apply to bolt actions/fixed mags? Well, either way, if one fits the M44, assuming it doesnt attach to the bayonet, shouldn't it be good on an M38 too?

As far as I know you can't thread your barrel in CA unless I'm misinformed they don't want you using flash hiders or silencers, the brakes for the 44s don't fit cause the front sights are slightly differnet I tried one and they are too loose and sag Down off the front of the barrel it's got to do with the bayonet, if someone knows for sure about the threading barrel thing in Cali please let me know where I can find out for sure, that's hat what I've always been told......so or those of you that don't live here...don't move here cause it sucks and if you do live here then RUN!! lol

You are. That only applies to semiauto handguns.

It doesn't even apply to a semiauto rifle, provided the rifle, itself, is legal.

Scroll to almost the very bottom. There is a recoil pad that replaces the metal shoulder hateing butt plate. I'm going to pick one up this weekend or the next for when I go camping at the end of the month so I don't get perment nerve damage

Ok cool that's freakin sweet lol well then I guess I'll have to get the barrel threaded and problem solved and yes the gun is legal and I just want to keep it that way, I like being able to have it and don't want to loose that right, thank you sir for letting me know that, it just made my day haha

Ya I got that pad already it's pretty nice but I just got the Ati stock so I don't really need it anymore I'm mostly just trying to keep it from jump around since I'm scoping it and stuff and I'm pretty sure that I steady have nerve damage hahaha

Haha thanx ya I haven't really played around with it all yet but it's kinda hard from my phone at work, I deff plan on being around a while so any advice on the mosins I welcome and much appreciated they continue to surpirse me all the time with all the stuff you can do with them so if there are any other ideas tops or mods ya'll got up your sleeves send em this way!!!
