So just the other day the bolt on my Mosin got really hard to open. I can beat on it as hard as I can with my hand and it will eventually open. The weird thing is if I pull on the cocking knob and do it that way the bolt will then open just fine. It will keep working fine until I dry fire it. I took the bolt apart and put it together a couple times and after I do it works fine for a few times then it gets really hard again. SO its not just hard to open it just has troubles cocking it. Looked around and couldn't find a single thing similar to it Any ideas? thanks in advance

Try putting some grease inside the bolt this may help the feel. It sounds as though your firing spring is getting overly compressed somehow to cause your issue, hopefully the grease will help.

Sounds like a poorly-fitted bolt body. Is this a Soviet 91/30? It may have some kind of burr or notch it's getting wedged in on a contact surface.
