i own a Mosin Nagant M44 that i paid around $100 for i know that it came from the Ishevsk Armory (sorry if its misspelled) i also that it was made in 1945 what i am curious about is if there are any websites or books or anything that i can go to to find out if my specific gun was issued during the war and if it was if it saw combat or not? im a HUGE history buff and i like to know as much as i can about the guns i own

Tracking down exact info from SN for Soviet rifles is nearly impossible. I suppose if you had full access to the old records and were fluent in Russian you could make some headway. The best way is to look at the wear and tear on the rifle. The ones that saw a lot of action were banged up quite a bit. Unfortunately most of these were rearsenaled (the square with a slash through it tells you which ones) so it becomes difficult to tell much. Certainly a lot of M44's did see action at the end of WWII.

well my gun is pretty beat up there are nicks all over the stock the forearm is missing a piece on the right side as if someone dropped it if i had a better camera i would take some pics and post em as for being fluent in russian im not :p but i dont think mine was rearsenaled from what i can tell it still has all its original markings the Y circle the hammer and Scythe the arrow inside a triangle everything also theres one thing im curious about it looks like someone put some markings on the side of the breach before i bought it but after the war these markings read TC6467 7.62x54R i know this is the SN and ammo type but its whats under that gets me it reads M1944 Russian C.A.I. Georgia VT. so any of yall know what it means?

The markings you are wondering about are importer's marks. Your rifle was imported by Century Arms International, and Georgia VT is the location where it was imported.
