You should be able to spin the cylinder freely when the hammer is uncocked. There's nothing engaging the cylinder until it's cocked.

Eastwood44mag,

You are correct... I doubt any of the refurbished Nagants come from the importer with a 20# DA trigger pull. One would have to disassemble it, clean the thick grease/re-lube and re-assemble to get it DOWN to near that value. SA is better, but without help, they are both really horrid - with it, barely horrid. Recall you are doing some work; advancing the cylinder, moving the cylinder forward against a spring, cocking the hammer, placing a breechblock behind the round, etc.

Kid_Cousteau,

Yes, Lee makes specialty Nagant steel dies... initially, they were made to fit the .32-20 brass, but they promised a newer set to fit the new Starline brass - with the same part number. Older distributor stock will be the .32-20 variant. That Starline brass is shorter than Ruskie/Fiocchi 'real' Nagant brass, as the open mouth is thin/fragile - really tears easily. Don't expect more than a couple of reloads at most. Bertram has made the correct brass for a while - and CH4D makes a specialty steel proper sized die set. For my money, the existing Lee set and modified .32-20 brass is still the way to go - the spent cases literally fall out.
