I am considering buying a Nagant revolver. I understand that this gun is chambered for a (somewhat) unique round. I have read that it can also chamber and shoot .32 caliber shells. Here is where I get confused...I have read of several different .32 caliber shells; including up to a .32 mag. Can the Nagant chamber all of these? If not, which ones will work in it?

Thanks!

Other cartridges—.32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Magnum, and custom handloads using .32-20 Winchester, .30 Carbine or .223 Remington cases—will also chamber and fire in the revolver, but will not achieve the gas seal.

I've not tried any of these in my Nagant's and have no idea if it can really be done safetly so if you try them do so with that understanding.

I know a guy with a Nagant revolver. It has a 42lb (est.) trigger pull in DA and a 17.5lb (est.) trigger pull in SA. You really get a workout!

In my experience the .32 H&R tosses a lot of crud back at the shooter, but I don't know of any kabooms with it. Your best bet is to stick with nagant ammo or handloads or use a .32 ACP conversion cylinder.

The Nagant is a pretty cool little revolver, you can buy conversion cylinders but I've never tried them. Hot Shot sells the original ammo but its pretty expensive so I only shoot the gun once in a while. I mainly bought one just because they are so dang cheap, the way I see it why not buy one.

The trigger pull on my Nagant in SA is very nice, far from 17lbs.

DA however is a different story, that will give you a workout.

Here's mine...
