Anyone here ran a Mossberg 930 hard and dirty? If so, any problems with function? How about any issues with ammo diet? What other shotgun would you compare its recoil to?

Thanks!

I have a 930 SPX, and I haven't put much through it but it was comfortable to shoot. I just tried 00-B, 4-B, and slugs, but it ate them just fine.

Mine has over 500 uncleaned rounds through it. Ranging from lowbrass wal-mart stuff, to 3 inch slugs. It eats everything flawlessly. I trust it completely. So much so that it is my primary HD weapon.
Just be sure you don't get one of the early ones with the canted sights and tiny bolt handle.

I have ran mine to 1000 rds and still ran fin although it seemed a little sluggish.

As far a recoil it is on par with most 12ga autos, not quite as soft as a Maxus, not quite as heavy as a SBE II with the same loads. It is a pleasure to shoot, so much so I intend to shoot one all yr and thru duck and goose season just to see what they will and won't do.

Mine shoots great with anything I load in it. Get one you will not regret it.

On mine the bolt will start to slow down noticeably after a few hundred rounds. Mine will also double feed sometimes using heavier recoiling loads. Granted, mine is about 4 years old now, so maybe they've improved it.

I have an SPX myself and have run about 10 different loads through it from light target to 00 buck-all 2.75 inch. Never a hiccup, though I do clean it after every range session. Love it, and it's a pussycat for recoil, even 00 buck.

Run slugs through mine consistently and never had a problem. Flawlessly fires 9 and fast as I can pull the trigger. Just might get another........
