I am tempted to buy a Mossberg 100 ATR Bolt Action in 30-06, it has a $150 Dollar scope on it and the Pawn Shop only wants $250 for Rifle and scope. My question to you guy's is how good is that Mossberg, any Good/Bad info welcomed. Buy or no buy? I will make up my choice only after hearing all of you'r opinions, advice, and expertice.

This is actually quite a good entry level rifle. it has some unique innovations to it, the bolt and action or very howa - ish, the stock is ahead of it's time for a synthetic, is pillar bedded and quite stiff, with built in studs. I would deff pick one of these up for that price, even if it had the origional crappy Simmons scope on it, sounds like you got a nice scope up top as well.

As a matter of fact, I would think the only better entry level rifles out there right now, would be a howa 1500 package , or the new Marlins that are coming out. But man, that price you are quoteing is double tough!!!

You had better get that deal. My ATR 30-06 is MOA (.7" 3 shots) with a $69 scope!

Put $250 cash in your hands and RUN to the shop...RIGHT NOW!

I have an ATR-100 in .30-06. With most commercial (read cheap) soft-point hunting ammo, it will hold within 2"@100Yds for 3 shots with me behind the trigger...a much better shooting budd than me got less than 0.7"@100Yds 5 shots with Fed Gold Medal Match, sandbag rested. Plus, I have an inexpensive scope (Simmons "Blazer" 3-9X50) on mine. It looks very much like jpwilly's, minus the bipod.

I am sort of a Mossberg fan, but I still feel this is a good solid entry-level budget-aware rifle. I bought mine in 2004, before Mossberg started marketing the "comes with scope" packages.

You're not back home with it yet????

If the scope is undamaged, that is a pretty good deal. You'll probably be happy with it.

There aren't many after market parts for the rifle, but that will change in time if Mossberg continues to produce it. I would think any 4x4 parts would work.

Thanks

I put the Mossberg on lay away at the pawn shop. I got other stuff to pay right now,but any way the scope on it works, its a Bushnell Banner 6-18x40 and it looks like jpwilly's minus the bipod. Oh yeah it cost me $230 Bucks thanks for all the info and if any body else has any info on this rifle good or bad I still want to hear it.
