I just a question for someone that is more savvy in this area then I am. I have a Mossberg 835 and have had a hell of a time finding a slug barrel for it. I know that the 500 and 835 are very similar and I was wondering if the slug barrel for a 500 would fit an 835 because many of the parts are interchangeable. I don't really know the diff between the two and I'm seeking guidance from someone that knows more then I do.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks, J

Sorry to tell you that the slug barrels are not interchangable between the two models

The 500 barrel is secured by a underlug with a large thumb nut, the 835 barrel is secured with an end cap.

835=thicker barrel walls and 3.5" chamber in civilian guns, some, but not all, are back bored.
The 835 barrel is the base for the 2.75" chamber Mils-Gun barrel and the 3" chamber 590 barrels..

I believe all the 835 barrels with the exception of the slug barrels are overbored. They are almost 10 ga dimensions. That's the reason no slugs in the standard barrels. They can wobble down the bore and jam up sideways causing a kaboom.

Also a +1 for havlinsales. Good people. Bought a couple barrels from them myself. Good pricing and quick service.
