So I want to add a mid range red dot sight to my mossy 590. First I need to get a good rail for the top of the receiver. Do I want Picatanny or Weaver? And which one do I want? I'm thinking of going for either a 30mm red dot sight or a holosight (still flexible) so I have a good method of aiming with slugs. Right now I'm just aiming down the barrel since the front bead doesn't want to stay on.
The 3" Magnum slugs I practiced with once blew the front sight bead.
I later replaced it and that one blew off. Replaced it again, and that one blew off as well. I've given up on front bead sights and just aim down the barrel.
I like the gun, front bead sight problems not withstanding.
