I'm considering a micro red dot for my Mossberg 590A1, probably a Primary Arms. Whatever I get, though, I want to have quick-detach capability (likely an ADM low mount), so that I can easily remove the RDS and use my front bead sight. To do so, I assume I'll need a rail mount that is grooved in the center, so that my line of sight to the front bead is not obstructed. Am I correct in thinking this? If so, I'm curious about the various Picatinny receiver rails that are available for the Mossberg. It appears that quality rails are made by EGW, Mesa Tactical, and Trijicon, to name a few. I'd like to avoid the cheapo, low-quality parts that are out there. Any recommendations for good gear in this regard? Does anyone know if a receiver rail mount will allow me to still see my front bead? If that part doesn't work, then the quick-detach plan is useless from the start.

All you probably really need is a standard Weaver 417M (48440) base for the Mossberg. Most of them have a center groove down the middle that should allow you to use the sight.

I can't really see any reason to spend $40 dollars for a high-dollar Pictinney rail when a $6 buck Weaver base will do the same thing.

Put it on with degreased screws and BLUE #242 Lock-Tight under it & on the screws and it will never ever come off unless you want it off.

The thing I dislike about Weaver rails is the limited number of slots. A Picatinny rail offers more flexibility, especially in the middle of the rail. Still, the price differential is hard to ignore. You certainly pay for Picatinny.
