Mossberg 835 stock on 500?

Will an 835 stock fit the receiver of a 500/590? I'm sorely tempted to replace the black synthetic stocks of my 590 with wood from an 835, but would like a 2nd opinion of "yes it will fit" before I give up the cash.

Why dont you just buy a wooden stock designed for your 500/590?

You can pick up stocks/foregrips dirt cheap on Ebay.

one problem you may run into would be changing your LOP. as i believe the 835 reciever is larger ( and subsequently longer) than the 500. personaly i dont think i would be enough to effect much. but i could be wrong... and i often am.

As for the questions posted....

I would buy one specifically for a 500 series, but I'm trying to be thrifty about this. (read: I'm being cheap b/c I just need something to putz around with) This is all mostly a "what if" question anyway. If I should get lucky enough to snag this set of wood for my pre-budgeted amount
+ shipping, I'll be glad. At best I get a set of wood stocks. At worst, I pass it along to someone else that can use it.

As for LOP, a standard stock won't fit me under the best of circumstances, I'm 6'5 and closer to 325 than I want to admit... I also have the ape-ish long arms to match...
