I just got a Mossberg 88 12 gauge, and when I bought it the guys at walmart told me that it could hold 6 shells. It only holds 3 shells though, and I can't figure out how to remove the plug inside of the gun to fit more shells, any help would be appreciated.

Remove barrel as per the instruction manual, the tilt the front end downward, and shake a bit. The magazine plug should come forward enough for you to grasp and remove.

The Maverick Magazine plug is a wooden dowel, about the diameter of a standard pencil, with a couple of "o-rings" on it, to help hold it in place.

BTW if you take it hunting, consider getting or making a plastic plug.

Don't leave the wooden plug in the gun unless you live in a desert climate. The wood soaks up humidity and can cause rust.
