Anyone have a report on this yet -? I know there are a few here getting one (Smitty) but before I buy I'd like to get a range report, fit and finish, function and accuracy, etc, etc ...???

YES - I want to be TactiCool, as TactiCool as I can possibly be -!!!

Thank You :)

Gotta call and a tracking #, I pick it up tomorrow!!!

Will post pics and report. I live out near the Mohegan Sun casino, if you're in the area, let me know...we can go tear up the range.

I have a 9200 Jungle Gun which predates the 930.
Other than being a pain in the patootee to effectively clean, it has been a reliable shotgun.

OK....Here's the range report:

I stripped and cleaned the gun on Friday night, it's one mean looking gun...Showed up at the range on Saturday, 8o degrees ans sunny...couldn't ask for better...

I started off with 2 boxes of 3" Remington Nitro Magnums, 1 5/8 oz, 1280 fps, #4, I wanted to make sure that it was "broken in"... I took out the plug and let loose with a few 8-shot "bursts", it never complained. After a few of these I started to gather a crowd!!

I switched to some 2-3/4" target loads, Winchester "AA", 1 oz, 1145 fps, #8 1/2, these fed great and have very little recoil.

The last ammo I brough with me to try was some Federal Power Shok Low Recoil Buckshot, I bought this because some people have trouble shooting the low recoil stuff in an autoloader, the gun performed flawlessly.

I was out of ammo, so then the gun started to get "passed around", all together I put 150 rounds through the gun, I would guess another 100 to 150 was put through her by everybody else. No problems from anyone...

Everybody had fun with her, I don't think it would be ideal for skeet, but I'm taking her on Wednesday night anyway!!

Thanks for the report - I can't wait to get my hands on one ... Hopefully sooner than later :D

Mine is on the way ... about time. Apparently, the first editions of these that were shipped had problems with the mag tubes and they suspended shipments until they straightened out the problem - That was what I was just told, however, I have no idea if that is true or Bull...

Great.... now I'm gonna be paranoid!!! I'll get over it though. Still no problems with mine, it's a fun gun to shoot!!

Who wound up getting it for you?? RSR or Ellett?

The mag tube issue will not apply to you - as you just got yours ...

RSR and they only got a couple - BTW did you mod it yet? Knox stock, Tac handle... anything?

Knox stock might be a nice touch?

I wish more of the manufacturers would make 21 inch barrel models with 8 shot mag capacity. It'd be nice to have cheap alternatives for a 3 gun shotgun.

Not that 3 gunners are a huge market or anything, but would it kill them to have two models? Would the tactical/self defense buyer shy away from an a few more inches of barrel?

No mods yet, the Knoxx stock won't work because of the recoil spring through the stock. I'm trying to get my hands on one of the Benelli full length pistol grip stocks to see if I can modify it to fit the SPX...

I did try to mount a Bushnell holosight that I have from a pistol, it looked "tacti-cool" but it was worthless to use, it made the sight plane way too high you would have to add a huge pad to the comb of the stock in order for it to be useful.

I've probably got 700 - 800 rounds through it so far and who knows how many from everybody at the range. It gets played with a lot.

I paid $575 for mine "out the door", that included the 6.25% CT sales tax...
I've seen them advertised for arouon $525 - $550 range.

As far as longer barrels, e-mail mossberg and let them know, unless they're told they probably don't know there is a "need".

I'm no Patrick Flannigan or Tom Knapp, but I can't "outrun the trigger".

Some of the 3-gun guys at my club have tried too and nobody has been able to get it stuck. I would guess with me it's somewhere between 2 - 3 seconds to empty all eight shots, recoil isn't bad either so all those eight could be placed pretty well.

Now I have a project for this week-end, I'm going to set up my video camera and run a bunch of rounds through and then put the stopwatch to them....

I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyone know of a vendor with these in stock? I'm in California if you know of a local chain with it (Turners, etc.) - I haven't seen one yet.

Seems like the perfect shotgun for entry level 3 gun compeition.

Jeff

A friend of mine that works at Dick's Sporting Goods says they are showing up in their computer system, he says that means they are getting them, I haven't seen one there yet.... maybe your local Dick's can get it from their DC...
