It is not really a 336 or a 1894. It is sort of an amalgamation of things. They are very interesting rifles though and I can't tell you how many times I have almost pulled the trigger on one. I can't wait for some reviews.
I bought this exact carbine about 2.5 years ago and never had any trouble with it at all. I mounted a 2-7X Simmons scope and it shoots an honest 2 inch group at 100 yards with Winchester 170 grain Power Points. The Marine finish is not paint nor does it appear plated. I really like the short 16 inch barrel for carrying all day within the steep hills of south-western Virginia. Recoil is moderate like all 30-30 carbines.
