Hello everyone,
Today I visited my favorite gun store on some time off and I noticed a used Mossberg Maverick 88 for $99.99 sitting in the corner. I checked it out and bought it. I shot it at the range while I was there and it functions flawlessly. I took it home and took off the rifle stock to put on the pistol grip from my Mossberg 500. The dealer told me that the stocks were interchangeable, so I proceeded to switch them out. Everything fits fine.
However, on the 88, it appears that the mech. with the trigger is a bit loose. This allows the shotgun to be racked continously regardless of whether or not the trigger has been pulled or the slide release has been depressed. Will this harm my gun? It cycles fine with rounds, but I have not shot it with the pistol grip yet. Apparently, the rifle stock had a tighter fit and kept the trigger mech from wiggling. The pistol grip fits just as tight but the trigger mech has a little play to it now. I will not shoot it until I get the all clear and maybe an inspection at the range.
So does this seem like a serious problem?
Thanks.
