Does anyone have the Mossberg 18.5 inch "Breecher" model that has figured out how to mount a laser site?
Laserlyte has one ,But I don't think that it is able to be mounted ----all my calls resulted in _ just order it and you can return it !!
Can someone help me out -------thanks !

NOt to Be ..............................

OK ----but you do sound like a smart*** .......I picked the breecher for its' :cuss: front strap and short brrl with pistol grip -------not because I SWAT down doors ------------so I guess your so smart -you don't know the answer to my question either

I'm sure that someone could figure out how to mount the laser. I've got a question though. What stance are you going to use with a PGO shotgun that will allow you to hold it steady enough to make the laser a viable sight?

Sounding like an arse

You picked up a breecher for it's PG and short barrel and the nifty strap thingee? So you bought a special gun for these features. Okay it's you're money.

Used a breecher once in training. Truth be told a sledge hammer or large wrecking bar works better. Just not as "tactical" as a custom Shotgun.

As to stance -I don't know that hip/waist or mid chest w /grip arm out would negate the aiding of a laser point in home defense ----just easier than "shooting in the dark""

Im assuming because he wants a laser on it he isnt going to be using it for breaching. Just because my rifle's model name is "deerhunter" doesnt mean i have to use it for deerhunting. although i do.

I have no clue how to mount a laser. Probably going to have to mount a bracket on the end of the barrel or something.

emjimb,

First, the most valuable tool you can add to a defensive shotgun is a flashlight. It allows you to see your target in low/no light environments so that you can determine if you need to shoot or not.

Second, at the close ranges that you're anticipating a laser that is the least little bit off-axis or offset from the centerline of the barrel will deceptively throw your aim off instead of aiding you.

Third, a shotgun pistol like this is very difficult to use with any accuracy. It's advantage is the comparative light weight when stacked up against a sledge or breaching too. It's use as a defensive weapon is highly debatable. The 18.5" stocked weapon is much more managable and can be aimed with better accuracy. And while shot patterns do spread they don't have much more than an inch spread per 3 ft. of range. At room and self defense ranges the 3 inche patteren still requires the use to point with accuracy.

Don't loose your cool when people seem incredulous over very specialized firearms like this. The breacher is almost more tool than weapon and as such may seem the logical self defense tool on first examination, but falls short of the same barrel/receiver with a standard or youth stock.
