I have not seen any here posting about the Shockwave [ was I not looking in the correct area ? ].
I am curious as to what ,if any use you see for it [ and the Remington version too ].
Fired one and was impressed at the ability to hit with it,and control it with reduced recoil buckshot.
Also fire a few rounds of 12 bore slug,it was a bit of recoil but not anything that this old man could not handle and enjoy.
Do you see a use,and do any here own one yet ?.

Haven't shot either one but saw both of them at a recent gun show. The MSRP for each is around $450. Vendor had the Mossberg for $525 and the Remington for $550 and don't think he was moving to many of them. IMO both the MSRP and especially the vendors aftermarket price are a little steep for something that should be under $400. I guess it would make a decent home defense or vehicle firearm. Like a lot of new firearms when they first come out they will probably sell at first for whatever the market will bear and then prices will cool off. Can't deny the cool factor though and wouldn't mind having one.

I didn't think much about it until I saw the Hickock45 video. They were doing some pretty good shooting with it but they are also some pretty big guys with big hands.

But bottom line, its only a couple of inches shorter than any other pistol gripped shotgun and a birds head grip is the way I always would have gone it just is not worth that much money.

Back in the early 80s, a friend of mine had bought a sawed off double barrel. It was the bare minimum legal. The stock had been worked into something very similar to a birds head grip. I think I would rather go that way.

Yup, already discussed here:

Recent corrective action by the Texas Legislature spurred by the good folks at the Texas State Rifle Association, appears to have left Ohio as the only place you can't buy them after our new laws will take effect Sept 1. Other places like Maryland treat them like pistols making them somewhat harder to get.

PGO shotguns aren't generally well regarded. Making them a little shorter doesn't really change that.

It kind of reminds me of the Taurus Judge in that the shear impracticality thereof is overwhelmed by the "cool factor".

The cool factor is pretty darn high, though. If I saw a cheap used one, I might bite. Not sure what I'd do with it.

I do not post pics and video of me shooting or handling guns, for pretty obvious reasons.
But we did take pics and video of shooting the shockwave,AND hitting very well with it at out to about 10 yards.
I see that as long as you kept shots to no more than 15 yards, your GTG .
And it has an adapter for the Aguila shorty 12 bore rounds.
Holding about 10 mini slugs - very ,VERY effective and VERY easy to shoot.
As was the reduced recoil 2 3/4" buckshot.
Just an fyi.

The Mossberg Shockwave is an amazing gun for what it was designed for. Technique is more important with this gun in any other. Take a sec to watch Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch:

Depending on your needs it looks like a cool unneeded but desirable gun. Hickock45 had a lot of positive things to say about it. I totally agree on the 2" rounds which gives one all the firepower they should need.

If I ever wanted to go with a pistol grip I'd go the poor mans route putting one on my Maverick 88. I'd only be giving up 4" in length and saving a couple of Cs.

Try ANY PGO, BEFORE you buy. They don't handle easy, like in the movies.
That said, my coach gun is the go-to, for snakes around here, so if you need
it and you can handle it, it will be a dandy music worm lullaby.

My personal preference is for the full size stock grip.

I don't like PG shotguns either...but everyone should watch the Clint Smith video posted above. The Shockwave grip is totally different than a pistol grip in terms of recoil management, apples/oranges.

If I got one I'd experiment with looping single point sling around the grip and punching it out for stabilization like a machine pistol (MP5K etc.)

I own one, and have only shot target loads through it so far, but am pleased. I have several different iterations of buckshot I intend to shoot, just haven't had the time yet.

As far as intended use, I mainly bought it because I've always wanted an SBS, even though that is not what this is, from a classification standpoint (according to the ATF definition). I'm fully comfortable calling it a "firearm" instead of a shotgun, just because it's fun. I could see it making a decent HD gun with enough practice, but I currently have other options to fulfill that role. In short, it's just another one of those guns I wanted in my collection, though I may never have a practical use for it.

Have any of those posting tried the Aguila adapter and the Aguila 12 bore shorty rounds yet ?.

I have ,and they are a game changer,VERY low recoil .

AND the ability to load 9 rounds easily.in slug form they are like shooting wadcutters from a .357.

As a HD gun, that would be a pretty good idea, imnsho.

Yes, they work great in the Shockwave if you use the adapter. Very minor recoil.

Agreed. The shockwave seems more like a novelty that one will get bored of after a few weeks. Variety is fine and more power to ya, but this shockwave isn't for me.

I received one from our favorite dealer for $370 plus KY tax. $392 out the door. My spouse and I have both shot it with #8 bird shot and 00 buck. We find it very manageable and truly like it. It needs to be run a bit to smooth it out but that's with any new gun I've found after 50 years of experience. I am considering a top mount light since the firearm is drilled and tapped from the factory. We expect it to be a handy go-to item should the need arise. "Thank you" to Mossberg for doing the research needed to bring this firearm to market. This firearm is a "keeper". Don.

I'm hoping to find one somebody got bored with after a few weeks.

I still have mine. To be honest the novelty has worn off a bit, I'd rather use the shells for my 1100 Tactical.
