Mossberg silver reserve O/U value

May buy this used has the 28" barrel the 5 chokes and wrench this is a field model and would be used for hunting and once in a while trap shooting, the seller is firm on the price at $250.00 anyone own or use one I know it is a budget O/U.

i think they go new for about 400-450. I have heard that they tend to kick hard. I have never personally shot one but I know someone that uses one in a trap league and he has a red shoulder after hes done shooting. hope that helps.

You don't say what gauge but would guess 12ga since you mentioned trap. If it's not beat up it surely would be a bargin at that price. I believe they are made in Turkey but don't know which factory they come from.

Had one and did not have a good experience with it. Had to go back to the factory twice, ended up returning it to the store for a refund. Bought a CZ instead and have been much happier. Best of luck if you do get it though.

find out when it was made so you can avoid the bad years (aka broken firing pins, poor barrel regulation etc etc etc). for 250 it could be a good once every other sunday gun. how far to the left does the top lever go? if its still out to the right, and when you break it that it does not flop in half, if its tight, for 250 its a good deal.

To add to what others have said.....

Check the Serial Number, if it is lower than TR12046393, I would pass even at this price.....

If the serial number is higher than TR12046393, it might be a OK...
