Mossy 12 Gauge

I have a Mossberg 585, (I think) and I was going to upgrade on the stock and mabe a Sight of Red Dot, when i look around I dont see anything for a "585" just a 500. If you have any advice It would be great.

I don't know that Mossberg ever made a "585". They made a 535, and an 835. Yours should have a model number on it. It's on the receiver, on the bottom, just in front of the loading port.

Sounds like you have a model 535. Sometimes the 3 in the middle looks like a 8. Anything that works on a model 500 will work on the 535 except the barrels. The 535 is chambered for 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" shells, where as the 500 is chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Stocks, sights, side saddles, chokes tubes, etc.... that fit a 500 will fit a 535. Hope this helps.
