Most accurate handgun you've ever fired?

I own quite a few guns capable of 2-3" groups at 25 yards, but my Grey Guns worked Sig X-5 L1 in .40 will rip one ragged hole. I'd love to get a ransom rest and see what it can do at 50 and 100 yards.

I won't pretend to be a good enough shot to say definitively which guns were the most accurate, it's really which ones I fired the best. I didn't put them in a ransom rest, but I did put some of them across a sandbag. My Kimber Custom II did very close to 2" @ 25 yards. I can shoot my dad's old Ruger Mk I with boring regularity. I surprised myself with a 686 and a 4" Python shooting 158 gr 38s out past 50 yards once.

The best shooting I ever did that comes to mind right now, out in the woods once with my dad, we saw a pair of jackrabbits off the road past 50 yards, I drew quickly, missed once, on the second, a 230 gr HST ripped the rodent in half. Warm fuzzies. :)

Regular iron sighted handgun? One of my 41 mag redhawks.

Any of my contender barrels with glass in a rifle caliber is a whole different class of cat though.

Without any hesitation, my TC Contender. Pick your calibler. I have a .22, a 7mmTCU, and a .30-30 barrel for it. The .410 barrel don't count. :D This gun will out shoot many rifles, MOA accuracy. Unlike the XPs, it doen't have a rifle stock with the butt cut off and it fits in an UM's shoulder holster. A M41 Smith ain't even close. :D This thing will make one hole at 50 yards with that .22 barrel.

4" revolver....Taurus M66....1" groups .38 or .357 at 25 yards. I went through a Ruger SS, a Smith 19, and a Rossi 971 before I settled on that Taurus.

I have a Ruger P90 that can compete for accuracy with ANY make and model of .45 service gun, shoots one hole groups, but tosses the first out to make for an 1 1/2 group. Autos do that.

I have a Ruger Mk2 that shoots 1" at 50 yards benched with a 2x optic, like that one. :D

I have a Rossi 4" M511 kit gun that will put 6 rounds into a little over an inch at 25. That one's a favorite field carries.

Yadda, yadda. I like accurate firarms and while some of my carries ain't exactly MOA accurate, all are more accurate than most. For instance, I can put 5 rounds from my Kel Tec P11 into 3.5" at 25 yards. That's service gun accuracy from a pocket pistol. If it ain't accurate, I generally have no interest in it. That's why it took me some years to find the perfect 4" medium frame DA .357. I wanted it to be accurate with .357, but also .38. Not all are. I wanted the gun to outshoot my eye. I wasn't satisfied with 3" groups from that Ruger using .38 wadcutter. Fine, it shot 140 Speer .357s into an inch, I tried all manor of .38 loads and couldn't get it to do any better than 3". Not good enough for me. I wanted rabbit hunting accuracy since I saw the gun as a hiking handgun, hunting also gun, and like to take a rabbit for the pot now and then when the opportunity presents.

Colt and Ruger

My most accurate semi-auto:Colt Woodsman Target Model .22lr. Most accurate revolver: Ruger Blackhawk (old model) .357. Honorable mention:Ruger Mk.1 Target,.22lr.

Most accurate I've ever shot was a friend's S&W 617 8" barrel .22. Just pick your spot and make a hole. Most accurate I've owned is my CZ PCR.

Well, After shooting many different handguns in competion, I would have to
say it's my .32 cal False muzzel Flintlock match pistol. Really a dream.

oddly enough the most accurate handgun that i have ever shot/ owned, was the least expensive gun i have ever owned. a ruger p345, it had reliability issues, i sent it to ruger, they fixed it, and i sold it.

Lock time is instant. Yes I am a Bullseye shooter. Our org. is NMLRA We have
our National Championship matches in Friendship Indiana. We shoot the same
targets as the ones they do at Camp Perry. This has been going on since 1933.

Y'all know there's a Holiday Handgun Match at the top of this subforum, right? The perfect place to wring the most out of your accurate handgun. And so simple, too: Your best 5-shot 15 yard group. Enter as many times as you like, too.

To stay on-topic, the most accurate handgun I own seems to be my 4" S&W 686. Ironically, it's not set up as a target revolver, but rather IDPA, and has been rendered DAO. Regardless, it's a laser. Honorable mentions are my 4" 10-shot 617 revolver.

Most accurate semi-auto I've shot seemed to be a rented HK P7.

I would have to say my boss mans .45acp revolver. I'm pretty sure its a S&W thats about all I know about it. 20 yards, all shots 1 ragged hole in the center of the target. In the terms of an auto, probably a SIG in .40 cal one of the guys had at the pistol range, seemed spot on every time I shot it.

Rimfire : Ruger Mark III Target
Revolver : Dan Wesson .357 Magnum 8" barrel
Semiauto: Colt Gold Cup tweaked by TenRing Precision
Singleshot: Thompson Contender in .30 Herrett

For me it is almost impossible to say, different conditions, different ammo, different amounts of coffee.... But I will say what I've generally shot best is my SIG 220 .22lr

I just picked up a CZ P40B .40S&W, it was unfired and I'm not used to the trigger but from what I've seen so far this pistol is the most accurate I've ever shot.

I haven't shot my Python enough to rule it in or out, so I'll have to go with my Nighthawk Talon II. It's downright boring. :D
