Slingshot crossbows are fascinating weapons. Powerful enough to be lethal (>60 ft-lbs), easy to make and very accurate.

However, all of my power sling-x-bows were pretty long. That is, until now!

I built a bullpup crossbow, with rollers that extend the draw. This has a stirrup and can therefore be cocked with both hands, allowing very strong bands.

Here you see it in comparison with an earlier model of mine:

you see it shooting triple TB gold bands per side, the maximum I can draw on a conventional slingshot. But the photos already show it with six layers per side, it shoots a 20 mm steel ball with more than 230 fps - well in the 60 ft-lbs realm commonly stated as "lethal".

I will do some more sanding, add a front handle and a scope, plus a nice paint job.

Will make a how-to video (tutorial) for next week! Stay tuned.

Jörg,

Do you have anything in mind for a sighting system for that one? I'm just curious as the design seems to not allow the convention cheek weld many of us are used to for shoulder-fired weapons.

I could see a sort of cheek mount/ optic rail over the top of the bands when they are pulled back. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

Awesome work as always!

The sighting question came to mind as well and the video didn't actually address it. It may have power, but without solving the sighting challenge it would be limited.

now thats pretty damn cool! you have some awesome videos on your slingshot channel by the way :) i enjoyed the slingshot cannon and the machete slingshot, those were very creative ideas. you are from germany right? what part? i was in the US Army and was stationed in Kaiserslautern for 3 years. i didn't see as much of the country as i would have liked, but what i did see was beautiful :) and i certainly miss the beer!

i foresee some cheek slapping if one were to aim as with a normal shoulder mounted weapon! perhaps a sighting system that rises high and towards the off shoulder? should be about perfect for slingshot distances.
