Most fun completely useless handgun?

Any handgun shooting 30 carbine. Automag, Blackhawk, Contender, Taurus Raging 30. They do not look like boomers, but definitely attention getters at a range.

In the past, any handgun shooting 45-70 would fall into the same category, but with the big S&W and Ruger cartridges, not so much now.

"Personally I'd say any of those uber stupid .17HMR snubbie revolvers."

Or even... I have my father's S&W 547. Stainless, 8-3/8" barrel, .17 HMR, decent action & trigger job (by me), and an UltraDot MatchDot. :)

He also gave me his favorite 6" Python, 2 Model 17's (one is a scoped 8-3/8") and a bunch of others, so the 547 sort of fits in. It needs a good scope though.

I'm looking for a KelTec PLR-16 for the same reason. Unless the Taliban invades Kentucky, I really don't think that it'll serve any purpose other than good times!

The Nuke 50 of course!
A PLR16 would be pretty good for those purposes. I'm considering getting one also. Pretty much any centerfire rifle caliber pistol will do the job.

I've shot a couple of custom 1911's that have been ALOT of fun, one in 38 super & the other in 45 super...big bang, great accuracy & lots of fun!

My S&W 1006 loaded with some of Doubletaps 10MM goodness , touched some off last weekend and some of the clam diggers came from across the bay to see what the hell I was shooting .

That isn't bad. At least you have a lengthy sight radius and the possibility of using it for small varmints. What the heck do you use a snubby .17 for?

I really like the .460 S&W being able to shoot 454 and 45 LC. That may be a little too practical for you, though. :)

The Kel-Tec would definitely be cool.

I really think anything beyond that, though -- like shooting a 45/70 BFR at a range with anybody else is really pushing the limits and you'd probably be asked not to do it if you made a habit of it. There's a fine line between "hella cool" and "dick move".

The whole cz52 just doesn't have the wow factor that putting a 375 JDJ or a 45-70 into a contender or encore does. Well maybe is not a wow factor it's the are you f-ing stupid look. If you really want that get the people in the next lane over to leave gun my savage striker in .243 with the brake turned on got that response before. Me and a friend went out and bought cz52 shot 1 box each through them and mine got sold and his never returned to the range either, but that .375 is like a bad habit you just can't put it down. The .243 was sold for the dick move factor, and there's no brake on the .375 for the same reason.

That makes about as much sense as my .22 Magnum derringer. Fun to shoot, but pretty much useless. Big loud muzzle blast, but won't hit the broadside of a barn.

You sound like you are ready for a big bore, noisy blackpowder gun. I just bought a NIB 44/40 ASM colt clone for expressly this purpose, lots of bang, lots of smoke lots of smiles for not many bucks!

Big boom? Lot's of smoke? Enough concussion to cave in your shootin partner's lungs every time you pull the trigger?..No question, what your're looking for is the Colt Walker .44 loaded up to the max with 70 grains of powder.(Triple Seven 3f will certainly supply plenty of it all, including plenty of punch) We have one small problem here, though. By the time you roll through that first cylinder full, you won't have much of a smile left on your face...

I don't know that there is a useless pistol.

If you NEED it, and it is ALL you have with you....it is worth more than gold.

But in the spirit of the question....I'd have to say it would be my .32-20 Colt Police Positive.

Nice recoil, a big boom, concussion that makes the shooter next to me a little queasy....I want something fun.
You want a 15" Thompson Center Encore in some big African caliber like 416 Rigby.

anything that fires the .475 or .500 Linebaugh . . . . .

or if you prefer something a little more mundane a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine is usually sufficient to annoy everyone in the general vicinity.
