Is there a way to mount a scope on a 1911 without drilling and tapping it?
I tried the mount that replaces the grip, I didn't care for that

I thought there was a way to mount by removing the rear sight and using that area to put a mount.
Any ideas???

I have a B Square mount on my SA 1911. I have a C-More reddot scope on it. It uses a screw that rep-laces the slide stop pin and 2 other set screws. It is a little bit of a pain in that when I field strip the pistol to clean it I have to remove the mount. That means I have to re-zero the scope after. It is usually close enough without a re-zero to shoot my plate matches, but not close enough for my bullseye matches.
It is a good solid mount, considering that it isn't drilled and tapped. It is accurate enough tht I shot a 799 last year in bullseye. The gun and scope are capable of higher scores. I, however, need more work.
