Mounting a scope on a S & W 629-1

I have a /smith & Wesson 629-1 and would like to mount a scope on it. It is not drilled and tapped for a scope mount like the later 629’s. Is there a way short of drill/tap to mount a scope? Weigand makes a mount but it is for a later 629.
