If you're content to just chase the cat away, pour a cup of diesel in the cave and sprinkle some on the ground around it. I know that moth balls run small critters out of attics, garages and from under a house; dunno about big cats. Camphor is definitely not an attractant. 
I was born and raised in Austin. After a dozen years of wandering, I came back there in '63 and then voted with my feet in '83. No regrets whatsoever. But if you ever get past 9000 Manchaca Road, that's the remnants of the old "family place" with a bunch of acreage behind and on down to Slaughter Lane. The tax man ran us out. The annual per-acre school taxes got to be 50% more than what my grandfather had paid in 1939.
