Mounts for large-ring mausers requiring no modification

I've had my M48 for a while now, and I love the thing. It's a blast to shoot, but I think it's time to play with it a little more seriously... or something along those lines.

Whatever, anyways-

For one reason or another, I decided I want to slap a scope on it. The only problem is, scopes usually involve drilling/tapping or stock modifications. I'd love to have a schnazy POSP (one of the weaver versions) on my rifle, but I'd also like to be able to put it back into it's original condition at any given time.

I've been searching around, but without too much luck. I did find one on e-Bay with picatinny rails, but it looks kinda odd, but I guess that's what happens when you go for the no-gunsmithing option. A scout mount wouldn't be bad either, but I really want that POSP scope...

But anywho, does anyone around here know of any decent mounts? Or am I better off getting a turret mount or another mount requiring drilling/tapping? (I'd take it to a gunsmith in that case)

I was turned off by it as well. I know Mitchell's has a scout mount, but I'm trying to steer away from there, but it's definately not out of the question. I think I might look for some decent priced repro turret mounts and take it to get put on though .

I have a scout style mount on my M48, I got it from here:

It does interfere slightly with the handguard though, which is why I'm currently looking for a sporter style stock for the rifle. The S&K mounts are good quality and their customer service is outstanding.

There are some other cheaper products out there as well, but I don't have any experience with them.
