Mouse Guns : YOUR Definition, CCW, etc. ?

Mouseguns are useful if you ask me. As stated, concealment means concealed. If you wear a Speedo, on the beach a 950 can be tucked under your nuts. Hahaha, but seriousmy they are great for situations where you can't or shouldn't have a gun on you. I carry a PT25 in the instances where I can't conceal a Shield. 9+1 is plenty for social events, plus a spare mag or two are SO small. .25>.22 for being centerfold and the added capacity is nice. FMJ all day, or hardcast lead.

You can make a cheap plinking .25ACP load with number 3 buckshot for CHEAP. Makes practice affordable and easy. First rule is the only rule that matters. If you dont follow rule number one all the others mean nothing. If someone would make a .25 Super...we could really get those 35 who expand. I heard .25NAA was interesting, but I am talking longer.

I have a friend who shot a rat with a .357. The shot went through the rat, through the floor, and through a water pipe.

. . . by itself, the rat would have done less damage.

Holy crap...! I know hindsight is 20/20, but I think I would have opted for some sort of shot shell with the finest shot I could get, and risked the rat getting away...

.

1: What is YOUR definition of a Mouse Gun ?
2: Would (do) you use one for primary carry ? Which one ?
3: Same as above, for backup ? Which ?
4: Specify largest and smallest Mouse Gun you would "consider" carrying ?

Thanks for all objective replies .:)

1. I would shoot pest rats and mice with a handgun shotshells, probably .22 LR, fired from a K-Frame S&W Model 17. Mine has a 4” barrel.

2. No; an S&W Model 17 is a service-sized revolver, and I would rather carry a service cartridge in a service-sized handgun.

3. No. See #2, above.

4. N/A. See #2, above.

The smallest handgun I would “consider” carrying, if we factored-out the “mouse” part, is a Seecamp LWS-32, because I own one. If I bought it, I must have at least considered carrying it, no? In reality, I have not carried it outside the house, recently. It “points” a bit low for me, and it has no sights, so I have to remember to hold high. It would be a terroble choice for something the size of a mouse, as hitting the small target would not be so easy.

An S&W J-Snub has always seemed plenty small enough for even the most extreme concealment needs.

My “primary” daily-carry handgun is evolving, as I evolve from LEO to retiree. My personal-time carry gun had typically been a G19 or full-sized 1911. I may return to mostly toting revolvers.

I am not sure what is meant by “largest” mouse gun. My Ruger SRH Alaskan should make a mess of the most massive mouse.

I wonder if it showed when he stuck it in his pants ?
Or maybe his shoes or gloves ?
He's certainly not wearing a Tee shirt or any other clothing.

Let's think along the lines of slipping in your pocket, or about the size of a mouse.
OK ?
