These are some of my favorites:

Monte Walsh - either Tom Selleck or Lee Marvin
Conager
Broken Trail
Lonesome Dove
Open Range
The Outlaw, Josey Wales
Firefly, the series
The Jesse Stone TV movies
Highroad to China
Rough Riders

You may have others, but these are mine.

Sons of Katie Elder is one of several old westerns that have recently been revisited. Dean Martin takes aim with the rifle stock in his armpit and John Wayne fires alternating left/right revolvers with exaggerated recoil. Can't beat old westerns!

More newly minted, I thought Broken Trail was a fine portrayal of our frontier melting pot and how some families got established that still call the west their home today.

off the top of my head...

For a few dollars more.
Heat
Predator
Navy Seals (just the .50 though)
The Cowboys
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
Matrix
Sentinel

A difficult task to pick favorites. There are so many great gun related movies in all genres.
I'll try a top 20 in order of their release date.

All Quiet on the Western Front 1930
Little Caesar 1930
The Public Enemy 1931
The Big Sleep 1946
The Killers 1946
White Heat 1949
Sands of Iwo Jima 1949
High Noon 1952
Shane 1953
The Searchers 1956
A Fistful of Dollars 1964
Once Upon a Time in the West 1968
Where Eagles Dare 1968
The Wild Bunch 1969
Dirty Harry 1971
The Godfather Part I 1972
The Godfather Part II 1974
Apocalypse Now 1979
Once Upon a Time in America 1984
Heat 1995
Saving Private Ryan 1998

If I had to pick one all time favorite from this group it would be The Godfather Part I.
Great movie making.
Thank you, csmkersh, for evoking the memories.

The 1990 classic "Men at Work" starring Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, and David Keith (the black dude from "They Live") features an air rifle in about half of the scenes, the gun is almost a supporting character. A silly movie, but one of my favorites.

I love "Dirty Harry"!

My favorite scene is the bank robbery.
One shot at the first robber jumping into the car.
One shot wounding the shotgun wielding robber.
Two shots into the get away car.

Then he stands there with his famous line.

Yep, he forgot all right.

Two left in the wheel. The wounded robber would have been dead, and the movie over.....

Harry, well, he'd have some explaining to do...

4 Brothers
Sin City
Logan's Run
Serenity
The Death Wish series
The Dirty Harry series
The Road Warrior (love that sawed off 12)
The Way of the Gun
Any Clint Western (The Outlaw Josey Wales is my favorite)
Winchester 94
..... just to name a few

There are three thought-provoking movies I might add for your consideration:

The Seven Samurai
All Quiet on the Western Front
Paths of Glory

These are not the typical dumazz, badazz H-wood shoot-em ups but those which give a perspective on weapons development in warfare.

btg3 that is how we used to fish for carp at my grandpa's ranch. Good times.

I've got to say the Steven Segal movie "The Patriot." I didn't like his work, but that old gent with the BAR and dynamite, now that was AWESOME! I was pretty unhappy that he got killed right away.

Paths of Glory

A great anti-war film(1958).It should have been on my list along with Sergeant York(1941),The Longest Day(1962)The Dirty Dozen(1967),and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid(1969).
That's the problem.Too many great gun films to choose from.

i just saw city of god... holy crap! i was not expecting to see that many guns... actually, i wasn't expecting to see any at all. crazy.

Unforgiven (He should have armed himself...)
The Shootist (There's nobody shootin back at you)
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (No problemo)

The Professional (Get me everybody!)
Bullet (The Remington Pump)
Desperado (The bartender got it worse than anybody.)
Serenity (Don't you wish we had some grenades?)
Aliens (Game over, man, game over!)
Any James Bond Film (Shaken, not stirred)
Outland (Shotguns. In space.)
Payback (They don't wear their seat belts.)
Hang 'em High (That was an old rope, but it damn near killed you.)
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (If you're gonna shoot, shoot, don't talk.)
Enemy at the Gate (Mosins vs Mausers)
Mad Max: The Road Warrior (I'll drive that tanker.)
Die Hard (Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho.)

Crossfire Trail

It was a TV movie with Tom Selleck, as good as Quigley Down Under.

My favorite line in the movie...

"Why d'you shoot that old Evans, Joe?"

"Well, it's got 28 bullets. And I ain't a very good shot. [grumbling] ...I'm goin' to town."

Shoot-em-Up is pretty wild. Silverado is a great spoof of all cowboy movies. Dog Soldiers is full of guns (and werewolves). Lock, Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels has some VERY funny gun stuff in it. The new Rambo movie is... a magnum opus.

You guys see how many mag drops/reloads Benicio Del Toro does in the final battle in Way of the Gun? Jebums, I couldn't fit that many mags in my big-a$$ range bag... let alone run around carrying them.

Sergeant York
Indiana Jones:
Raiders of the Lost Ark (I dare you to beat the Cairo swordsman scene)
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (you'll love the gun quotes, promise)

magnificent seven, the shootist

the wild bunch, objective burma

usual suspects, LA confidential

man who shot liberty valence, true grit

the proffessionals, red river

Lawman, valdez is coming

tried not to put in any dupes
