I would strongly consider moving your firearms yourself (check with your homeowners/car insurance on this in case your car gets stolen). This way you know where they are. Some moving companies have surprisingly sticky fingers on some boxes. As a kid I lost some toys when the jerks at a company with a orange truck swiped a few of my boxes, and my parents lost some things too.
Moving companies mostly are crooked, though some are good.
The moving industry is shockingly badly regulated thanks to it's interstate, multi-state nature. Check the reviews very carefully. I think John Stossel or some other investigative reporter did a news story for ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC on this within the last 10-12 years or so.
