I was a bit skeptic about mpro7. Another cleaning snake oil. Bought one of these in a quart spray bottle. cleaned my HK's with it, and it seems to work very well. After cleaning it with this stuff, I tried cleaning again with Hoppes 9, CLP, Shooter's Choice lead remover, Outers nitro cleaner, they all came out clean!

The thing is, this stuff isn't cheap. After cleaning a few HK's, Beretta and Glock, it's down to half the bottle.
Where can I get Mpro7 cleaner cheaper than $26 for 32fl oz? Brownell's cost more than the local dealer, midway's out, their price is $24.99. Where do you get yours?

I stocked up on it when a local store was going out of business. I got lots of it for 1/4 price! :) Gave a bunch away to friends, and have a bunch for myself.

I believe you're using too much at a time. Don't apply it with the sprayer. Use a brush and work it around, let it sit. Blow it off with air. Brush again, blow again. Apply a thin coat of their gun oil or some other oil. Blow it on thin over all metal surfaces.

Try using dry teflon (Elmers Slide-All) around the chamber(s), HK P7 Gas Cylinder & Piston, bore, firing pin channel INSTEAD of oil. Use a mop or patch to assure complete coverage. Less fouling in the high temperature areas. Easier to clean all around next time.

I usually spray the barrels, all over slide and the inside the frame and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then the work begins. I do have air can to blow the reside. I kind of like Breakfree CLP for lube, it has been working very well for my guns. I have rem drilube, I didn't really like it. I want some spray on my safety glasses when I shoot them guns :D

I see some places selling by the gallon, looks like it's cheaper by the gallons, but most online stores are out.

It's gold. I've been using it for years and I'm totally sold on it. It's like a magic liquid. I use it and CLP on all my iron and even on the moving parts of my bike.

I also notice that after getting mpro7 on my hands, I can see some of the skins are flaking, kind of like dry skin. what is in this stuff?? It really makes my hands dry. :what:
I wear gloves now.

It's soap, a very high-tech soap, originally designed to clean the weapons on the Air Force's F-16. That's why it'll dry your hands out in the blink of an eye.

the only thing about mpro7 that doesn't seem to clean well, is cleaning my 686's cylinder face. I have this lewis lead remover that I use, but I gotta rub & rub, a lot! What's the quickest way to clean it? hoppes 9 just doesn't cut it for this particular job.

MPro isn't cheap but you don't have to use a great deal at a time either.
Saturate a patch, run it into the bore and let is sit for 5-10 minutes.
It will eat through the crud but because there is no ammonia or really corrosive chemicals it will not harm the barrel steel.
Time is your friend with MPro Products.

The best reason to justify spending $26.00 for a bottle of cleaner is two fold.
1. The stuff doesn't stink. Your loving wife is not going to show up and give you a loud and vocal opinion of you, your shooting habit, and the god awful smell that is reeking through the communal abode.
2. The stuff is NON TOXIC.
I wouldn't recommend drinking the stuff like a cocktail but it won't kill you slow if you forget to wash your hands right after gun cleaning either.

Hmmm ...

I've been using an 8 oz. plastic squeeze bottle (Brownells) filled with the MPro7 Cleaner ... given to me by another armorer who wanted me to try it ... and I've been using it to clean a lot of guns in recent months.

Still got more than 3/4's of the 8 oz bottle left, and that's even counting the amount I removed to fill the small needle-tipped squeeze bottle I keep in one of my portable armorer's boxes.

I don't use excessive amounts, but I do use sufficient amounts to do the job.

I generally like to apply cleaning liquids directly to patches & cloths, not spray and drench weapons.

FWIW, I've encountered a lot of pistol functioning problems which were discovered to be related to using excessive amounts of solvents & cleaning liquids. In most instances either the owners/users of the pistols were using so much that the liquids unintentionally 'ran' into areas where they couldn't as easily be removed without some disassembly of slides (such as the firing pin channels), or else they were intentionally applied in excessive amounts to places where it isn't a good idea to introduce them in a manner which permits build up of fouling and goo which can't easily be drained, or blown out with air applied from the outside.

I have no idea how long a 32 oz bottle would last me.:scrutiny: The 8 oz bottle my friend gave me is lasting for quite a while, used as I use it.

Re: the 32-oz. bottle. I have no idea. I ordered a bottle of bore gel at the same time years ago and I have plenty of both left. I use it on a patch wrapped around a brush.

I just started using the Mpro 7 cleaner. It beats the heck out of anything else I've tried, and it's true that very small amounts are highly effective.

They use to sell it direct from the factory. I bought my 32 oz bottle direct back in like 2001. Still using it. They stopped selling direct when Brownell's picked up the product. Get a C&R and that will probably be your cheapest bet at Brownell's.
