Went to the range today with my brother in law who had just recently purchased his first handgun which is a Ruger E9 and he did so at my suggestion for a good first pistol. I had heard great things about the SR9 and figured that the E9 was the same exact thing.
We took it to a local range this afternoon and I must say I had high hopes and was seriously disappointed. We literally had every kind of malfunction possible including stovepipes, failure to eject, partially chambering and generally really horrible cycling issues. Also we noticed that when a loaded mag was inserted that it would cause the slide to drop without even touching the slide release.
I guess I was just wondering if anyone else has had these issues with their E9s or SR9s for that matter. I really must say that my overall impression of this pistol is that it is of much pooper quality then I had hoped for.
