Muzzle Brake for my Savage 116 BSS?

Check the barrel diameter at the muzzle and about 1/2" back. The threads are 5/8x24, which is pretty standard so your rifle smith should have no problem threading your barrel for you and installing a brake. The brake taper is for a "bull" type barrel instead of a standard magnum barrel. I would contact the company and advise them of my intentions, they may have a model tapered for your barrel diameter. Not sure if that helps.

Im holding off for now...If this weapons bill gets passed, and I thread that barrel for a brake, it'll be considered an assault weapon. As it sits now, it wont be. So I bought a nice fat recoil slip on pad for the back for the time being.
