Like lots of us I suppose, I'm wondering that when the AWB goes away in Sept. how do you get the muzzle brake off the end of your AR barrel if it's been "permanently attached" with silver solder?
I have a Bushmaster Superlight barrel and the barrel itself is too thin to just cut and rethread. Either the brake comes off and the threads are useable, or I rebarrel if I want a flash hider. I'm not looking forward to rebarreling but I've got an old style Phantom all ready to go and the brake annoys me.
So, is getting the brake off the barrel possible without damaging the threads...or the chrome lining of the bore?
Thanks for the advice in advance.
