Muzzle Break for 10/22

Not trying to be snarky, but what exactly will a muzzle break do on a .22?

I've seen therm on high end .22 target pistols before, so presumably they do something. Not sure it would matter enough if you are not trying to litteraly put all the bullets through the same hole at 50 meters.

Do 22 rifles even produce enough gas expansion at the muzzle for a brake to actually do anything?

Not really, there is something there but nothing you could feel or see. The only ones I have are really only there to protect the threads on the end of the barrel while they don't have a suppressor on them.
