You should see what comes out of a Wildey.
Even the 'lower power' .45 Win mag barrel.

I'm amazed how many people DON"T wear ANY safety protection at all..!!!

Not just shooting, but in the reloading room, work shop wood or metal etc.
If I could afford it, I'm not sure I'd want to be looking through someone else's eye???

Eye's ,fingers, toes are all important to me.....I even wear Red Wing steel toed boots in my shop when working with heavy wood or metal.
And I'm 56 and still have all my original parts....so far..!!!

This is a true short story:
Off Topic, but very important.

I use to have a supervisor many years ago when I worked in the oil field business, he would catch someone without safety glasses on and say, "I know where you can get a good deal on a seeing eye dog"..!!

We all knew what that meant.
It stayed with me all these years!

As a mechanic I always wore eye protection when running cut off wheels or die grinders, but not when running impacts or anything, until the day I exploded an impact wobble.

I a wear eyeglasses so I just bought prescription safety glasses to shoot with. I wear my regular glasses when I reload though. I know done guys who wear rubber gloves when reloading too, no way I'm doing that.

Posted this on another thread a couple of days ago, this thread titled muzzle flash this seems much more appropriate. My friend was impressed enough that he decided to video with his I phone, yet I didn't realize how big a flash until I pulled a still frame from it. I was aware that my view of the target was entirely washed out while I was pulling the trigger.BTW .44 Magnum Desert Eagle 25.7 gr of W296 behind a Nosler 200JHP. I much prefer Blue Dot with lighter bullets in my Desert Eagle, very little flash. I have to admit it was kind of fun.

Super Redhawk with 180gr XTP loaded with as much H110 as you can fit in the case with out budging the case set off with a non magnum primer.
Never got a picture of it but it thumps and flashes pretty good.

I have had a 50+ year love affair with Magnum revolvers, especially the 44.
That's a good photo showing why not to put your hands near the front of the cylinder. I had a friend that kept doing that, and I kept correcting him. Then one time I did not catch it in time and he burn the heck out of fingers. That broke that bad habit.

Yup, nuthin like a good fire ball to get a burglar headed South :):)

Here are some pics I extracted from a cell phone video from a couple weeks ago.

Shuff's Mini-G "tanker" style Garand with 16" barrel really makes a big fireball, especially when shooting ball powder like BLC-2 or 748 (or Greek HXP like they are probably shooting in this video).

I really wish I had some pictures of my 38spl 55gr Squishem ball loads from last month, I still have some, maybe I will get the camera out to take some.

I take a 000 buck ball, about .345" out of my LEE mold, and squish it in my bullet sizing die (hence the name my 3 year old gave them). I have loaded 1, 2, and 3 balls per case with Pyrodex and Goex FFF filling the rest of the case. 1 ball loads lead the barrel up bad, 2 are still scooting pretty good and 3 will barely punch through both sides of a coffee tin.

The muzzle flash from the 1 ball load is incredible out of a snubbie.
