My 10 year old's first hunt.

I took my Daughter hunting last weekend and she loved it. Shot her first deer. It was a small buttonbuck but it was still a great time she is hooked. She shot him on Saturday morning about 15 minutes after we were in the stand. I think the half hour of waiting before we could go find the deer was the longest 30 minutes of both our lives lol.

Just curious - why did you have to wait 1/2 hour before you could go get the deer?

Well I always try to wait just in case the deer is not dead. When she shot it it ran over a small hill I could not see it anymore. Did not want to spook it and let it run more. It ran about 50 yards and was down.

Good job. Tell her great shot too. I am taking my 10 year old daughter out next weekend for youth deer. It will be her first deer hunt also. I hope she comes like yours did. Congrats btw.
