i started the process in NYC. then i moved to FL and changed the address online. plus i didn't do the electronic fingerprints, that's why.

The fine print of Rule #3 clearly states that Chuck, Clint, Arnold and John (posthumusly) are the ONLY three persons allowed to ever break Rule #3.

A month and a half for a CCW?? Here in PA, mine took about 45 minutes, and that included 5 minutes to get thru the metal detectors at the courthouse, 20 minutes to fill out the form, and 5 minutes for the deputy to print and laminate a wallet-sized copy. I realize that PA is one of the easiest states to get a CCW. Maybe that's why so few states honor ours.

But anyway, congrats on finally getting your "License to Kill".
 
Gun safety rules. Some places have it as rule #3, the NRA safety rules have it as #4. I remember it used to be 3...

Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

So either Chuck is breaking the rule, is exempt from the rule, or is ready to shoot.
 
Alabama is pretty easy too. I didn't even have to leave the house. Just downloaded a form and mailed it to the sheriff. I received the permit in the mail 2 days later.
 
The 4 rules (from memory.)

1. All guns are always loaded. (IOW, never treat a gun differently because its unloaded. Always follow the 3 following rules.)

2. Never let the muzzle cover something you're not willing to destroy.

3. Finger off the trigger till the sights are on the target. (The most noticeably violated rule in movies and promo photos.)

4. Be sure of your target, and what's beyond it.

I wish it went that fast here in Michigan. Heck, I wish it was as fast as in Florida. My wife and I applied for ours back on August 7th, and we have yet to receive them.

You aren't likely to until next year, if you live in wayne county. My renewal took even longer than the original, though I was assured by the clerk that it would be much less time. Wayne county sucks worse than the compilation of all the cons of the other 82 counties put together. Expect it no earlier than Christmas.

A friend of mine that lives in Macomb cty got his in about 3 weeks.

The Sunshine state helps to re-new my faith in humanity.
Locally(I think he is just locally), we even have a person running for office (I think state level) with a TV ad that brags about how he help fight for the right of people to keep arms for home defense.
That is the kind of thing I like to see, shows that his internal research indicates that the RKBA is important enough to run on.
More CCWs in the state, the more politians have to pay attention.
Freedom is like an OCD, if you can't exercise it daily, do you really have any!
