I got some new shoes for my Ruger LCRx 3" .38 Special today! I was looking around the LGS today, trying to find a certain HK or Walther (no luck on either) so I decided to check out the accessories. I'd been wanting some of those electronic ear muffs so I grabbed a pair and sidled over to the grips. Well, lo and behold they had some Hogue LCR grips...in purple!:D What can I say? That's my favorite color! A plastic revolver doesn't have a lot of character, it's just like every other black plastic revolver. Until you slap some Purple Hogues on it anyways!:neener:

Without further ado, check it out:

Uh.... Hmmmm

The LCR does nothing for me, but odly enough, I kind of like that. I'd have gone with dark green myself, but that purple is kind of cool looking. Looks like a gun the Joker would keep in His coat.

Nice man

I love the gun! I don't have my old 2" version to compare it to anymore but it's a good shooter. The sights are much improved, and it's hard to overstate how much easier the new white-striped front sight is to pick up in the dark. When I took it to the range I was loading two or three rounds in the gun, leaving the other 2 or 3 chambers empty. This was to suppress any urge to flinch. After I put about fifty rounds through it I started loading all the chambers. At 7 yards my double taps were landing about 2" apart! Not bad for a guy that only ones on revolver. I almost found it easier to make precise shots DA than SA. The DA trigger is really excellent (the SA not as good as I expected but it will probably get better with time).

I'm not sure the range guys would like me to set up my Chrony on the lane!:p But all my research suggest I'm probably getting around 150 fps more velocity from the 3" barrel than the old 1.87" version. The longer sight radius and better sights makes it considerably easier to shoot, for sure.

And I got an e-mail from Garrett than they sent my new holster today!:D I mentioned in another thread that the IWB I got from them wouldn't go in the holster due to the sight channel not being high enough. So hopefully this one will be perfect.:)

Hahaha! It does look like something the Jack Nicholson Joker would have carried! :D It's not like they had a lot of options, and no green. They did have pink. I'm secure enough in my masculinity to carry a purple gun, but uh...maybe not secure enough for a pink one!;)

Purple is the royal color. It's regal. Well, as regal as a polymer revolver can be anyway.

Green just happens to be my particular favorite. When your a professional forester, and of irish decent, what choice do I have really?

Yep, I can just picture the J in that wide brimmed hat pointing that one at Bob, for those who remember Bob anyway.

Where does he get those wonderful toys? Bob...gun!:D

Guess I should look around online. I had no idea they made these in purple so for all I know they might be available in green. I just know the LGS didn't have them but they might be available online.

Nice, Nick! I didn't know they made that one in colors. I didn't even try mine before I took it off, went straight to the small Tamer like the original version has. I'm sure the longer grips are easier to shoot with but I was primarily concerned with concealability.

Purple is my wife's favourite. She wanted to get all three fingers on the grip and the groves of the original Houge hurt my old broken bone. I like the Ergo Delta grip the best on the LCR
