So after I got my first AR, a Bushmaster A1 Commando (Which is a very neat weapon, looks and handles a lot like the old Colt XM177E2), I decided I liked the platform enough (and finding that most the "AR's are jammomatics" internetz bullcrap was just that) to get another. So, after doing some research I found the options that I thought would (in my mind) make the ultimate AR-15. I completed this rifle awhile ago (or at least got it shooting in an Classic A2 configuration on top of my Bushmaster carbine stoked lower) and have been pumping rounds down it for about a year now, upgrading it piece at a time until finally I have something that resembles a finished product....

Spike's Tactical Lower
DPMS Lower Parts Kit
Trigger Job
DPMS 20" A3 H-Bar upper
Double Star Picatinny rail Gas Block
Midwest Industries Low Pro Flip up sights (front and rear)
A2 birdcage style Flash Hider
First SAMCO (Now CAA) M-44L Quad Rail forearm (Love this piece of kit, VERY tight on my rifle and the rubber panels feel great)
Hogue Grip
High Standard A2 style stock
IOR QR-TS 3x25 Tactical Scope (awesome Tactical Scope with GREAT glass
Bravo Company SOPMOD Bolt Upgrade kit
McFarland one-piece gas ring
Magpul P-Mags
All my standard mags (Save 2) have the Magpul anti tilt followers.

I did all the work and construction myself save the trigger job. This rig shoots like a dream, is rock solid reliable (even after some punishing 500 round Wolf ammo sessions LOL), points nicely and very, VERY, almost scary, accurate with Lake City 62 gr. ammo.

I must say that the AR has be hooked for it's modular construction, accuracy, handling characteristics, and reliability. I might do a larger trigger guard, but we'll see.

LOL, basically, I mean I don't have a garage big enough for a toy with wheels... but I had no idea that you could do so much with this platform until I got my first one.

AR-15, the next best thing to a hot rod ;-)
