My Gunfighters Inc Baba Yaga rig has landed after couple months wait. The CZ 97 BD is waiting in line to have sights changed and barrel bushing 1911 mod , sending by the slide in a couple weeks to Cajun Gunworks. I already put 400 practice rounds and it's a great barrel, but yes it has quite a bit of play and bushing design is too weird. I bought a set of Dawson fiber optic adjustable sights and I am planning on putting the 97 BD Tritium sights on my new CZ 75 Compact that lacks them , looks like the dovetails are same and we will see how bullet impact is.
Lok grips in slim bogie Blood red and Black to match the Ronin Baba Yaga holster :). Wilderness five stitch 1.5" belt with Gunfighters double Ronin mag pouch and an extra single pouch with a ten round mag instead of the other three twelve rounders. I also have a Gunfighters Kenai Chest holster to wear riding or let's face it, hiking, and not strutting around on the range . I love my ..45 acp CZ 97BD and have no desire to suppress it or mount a light or optic.I want it for a pinpoint .45 acp format like a DA Colt Gold Cup. Four pounds four ounces loaded with 47 rounds and a 9 .oz Stun/flash light I am gonna take off and put a Sure Fire Executive 6 .oz in its place. If I put on a knife it will be a Victornox small pliers tool I have will stay under 4 and a half pounds (under 2 KG) , I usually wear suspenders anyway. If you look real hard you might see I secured everything in place with light but strong black zip ties. I don't want to thread the thing thru belt loops, its a GUNBELT Rig ! I will put it on over my pants belt (which are always thin Liger 1.5 belts) and THEN attach my heavy duty suspenders to my pants belt over the gunbelt which will ride a little higher than my pants belt.

Dovetails are same.
The 97 has a 5.5 mm front sight, the compacts are 6.5mm.

One of my 97s is at Cajun now getting the 1911 bushing installed and a Bar-sto threaded barrel fit.

Looks like you also installed a SP01 slide release.

How high a front sight does the Dawson Adjustable rear they sell for the 97 Take ? I think I noticed you had that that rear sight on one of yours. I bought their 6.5MM one as the adjustable rear appears a little higher than stock. They will be fitting the sights, doing the bushing modification on the stock (very accurate ) barrel and crowning it . I wanted an RMRdirect mount for Hollosun 509 cut but they said the adjustable sight might interfere so am cancelling it. I really don't want to put an RMR or light on the gun. ALL other possible Cajun Gunworks up grades except bushing or slide cuts or frame polishing have already been done and I love it as is !

47 230 grain .45acp rounds in 4 mags in carriers and a sized 40" riggers belt with a flashlight and holder at 9 .oz with a 41 ounce all steel pistol. With a knife keeping it to under 2 kilograms . I normally EDC a Sig P220 .45 that weighs 36 .0z loaded . The tiny Walther PPS with redot and 8 rounds of 9mm is 27 .oz all with out holsters and spare mags. Loaded serious guns are heavy, Aluminum framed guns are about like a snubby K frame revolver in weight = 2 pounds , compact or Micro compact pistols plastic and alloy framed snub in a serious caliber around a pound and a half . A steel frame .45 1911 is 41 .oz unloaded as is my CZ97BD . On a .45 the steel frame really lets you get great and fast hits . My Sig P220 .45acp all tho a good West German one, does not approach the Gold Cup like accuracy of the CZ97 and I prefer to carry a decocker at half cock these days.

Or steals your car....
I don't have a dog any more, I do have a few Motorcycles and an F150 i am rather partial to and insurance can't bring them back as they are. Note John Wick mostly uses minor caliber 9mm, granted ALOT of them !

Seriously Gunfighters Inc. holster are so good that this actually happened :
"

The Ronin OWB Holster

  • Designed for everyday carry and range usage.
  • 0-degree neutral cant with battle cut
  • Hand-formed Kydex no-slip belt loops.
  • Holster checked with a real firearm to guarantee proper fit and retention
  • Handcrafted in the USA and shipped directly from Manufacturer."
When John Wick took on the high table, he came to GunfightersINC.

The Baba Yaga cut Ronin was built to Keanu Reeves’s exact specifications for the film.

It’s built in a neutral cant configuration with the battle-cut front shell and a high sweat shield.

The battle cut allows for a faster draw and an easier re-holster under stress."

Well I know that I have been spending too much time at work. I thought Baba Yaga was a Star Wars thing.

Now that I know better, that is a great set up. I think weight is a very personal thing, kind of like the weight of a rifle. I would have no problem toting that around the way you have it set up.

I would rather find confidence in thoughtful selection than settling for inadequacy in compromise.

Very cool on many levels!

On a 97, I don't know, on a regular 75 it's 7.5mm, some have had a 8.5mm.

Am not a fan of CGW/Dawson adjustable, had one got rid it. Just don't care for the appearance, it just sticks out, kinda out of place and rides high.
Personally, I think a S2 adjustable would look the best. Sits lower, has better lines and flow with the slide and requires a lower front.

Was gonna grab some pics of my 97s, but they are both at Cajun.
For sights, 1 has the CZ Custom HTAC rear. It's the same as this sight on my semi compact.

Have you thought about running a mag well?
Mines from Floyd's custom, works with the henning tanfoglio +2 exts

Thanks alot, I do like that sight better, more rounded and deeper notched.I didn't know about the magwell. Do you modify the Lok grips ? BTW your Lok grips look like the palm fill ones and I'll bet they feel great. so this is the S2 (shadow 2 ) sight set . You think it will fit on the 97B ? I really like this one has a 1.5mm front green pipe and the two small red pipes, looks simple adj. is $155 .

I have suspended my amazement on your carefully crafted rig until you post a selfie wearing your suspenders system.

I wore it the morning Over and ON TOP of my regular suspenders and it held up above the pants belt just fine as I jogged down to mail box and back up . The ensemble really works well and the holster is fast and gobbles up the 97 without looking at it. The mags on opposite hip a very reachable , the front single pouch now has a twelve round mag in it and I am carrying the CZ97 with the factory 10 round mag in it. The twelve round extensions are just that, extensions and the mags are marked ten with witness holes. So if an over zealous true believer in the Oregon and federal court frozen 10 round mag issue (which includes cops and CCW holders !) pushes it then he can count the ten rounds in my gun and see if he has a case in court if he goes further .
I have a couple of this type harnesses to hold up heavy war belts irregardless of pants situations, I found them to work exceedingly well for me with "War Belt" set ups , but really aren't need for this rig IMHO. BTW I ditched the Stun/Flash light and replaced it wit a nice Nylon pouch with a SurefireG2x "executive" sized two 123 cell light with LED and 80 or 600 Lumens . The weight with 47 230 grain cartridges is now 4 pounds on the nose.

All my CZ get the palmswell grips. I've been bugging lok grips for brass and or alloy palmswell grips.
For that mag well the grips need to be shortened by about 3mm and I believe lok will make them short if you call.

That adjustable you have pictured looks like a LPA, which is different from the CGW/Dawson.

The S2 sights, are not a direct swap. The dovetail cut is the same but the area right behind the S2 is milled lower.

Cz 97 with lok palmswell.
Cz 97 dovetail
S2 dovetail, notice area under sight is milled

Thanks again ! I lifted that picture from CZ Custom shop, thanks for the LPA tip , Ill check them' So with the Loylld's Magwell a standard 10 round mag wont go in ?

I went with these LPAs which they advertise as fitting the 97 from the CZparts - in stock ! Cajun will take back the dawson set they said when I send in my slide and charge me $40 to put on the LPA and "adjust them"

Beautiful outfit.A 97 is on my short list for my next purchase once funds accumulate after my last one.

So I tried both styles of mags, OEM CZ branded and the mec-gar tanfoglio, the difference is the base, neither one worked.

Both are very close, the mec-gar came closer as they are smaller, you spend some time with a belt sander, both ones would fit.

Or you could slightly open the radius on the rear of mag well.

Same sights but in the States. And yes all CZ 75 and 97 models minus the Shadow models have the same dovetail.
