Some of you might remember my story about UPS wrecking a BM-59 rifle I sent back to Springfield Armory for a warranty repair. UPS had managed to nearly break the stock in half. It has been a total nightmare dealing with UPS, and I'm still waiting to get paid by them.
The good news is my rifle is back home. I had to front the money to get it fixed, but it is back home. SA sent the rifle over to Reese Surplus to be repaired. Reese Surplus is located in the same town as SA, and is owned by the same family that owns Springfield. Reese is just about the only source for original Beretta BM59 parts. Reese fixed the faulty bolt catch which was the reason I sent the rifle in. They also selected a gorgeous replacement stock!!! It has a beautiful tiger stripe pattern near the butt area. Reese then sent the rifle back to SA, who then returned it to me.
The best part was the repair total was $75 for the new stock! This is really above and beyond the call of duty by SA and Reese. SA worked with me from the beginning and helped me during the claims process with UPS.
This is my second good experience with Springfield customer service. With all the complaints about bad customer service from the gun makers I just wanted to post something positive.
