my buddy got a suppressor. Few questions...

My friend just bought a suppressor for his Kimber, well more like his ATF paperwork came back and he just got to take home his suppressor, but anyway; he let me shoot it earlier today and it did seem a bit loud compared to some of the youtube clips i've watched. Sounded more like a 4 inch barrel .22 with sub-sonic rounds. Still pretty cool.

So i have a few questions
1. What is the quietest factory ammo (.45 ACP)
2. What is the difference between wet and dry in suppressor terms?

If it sounded like .22 subsonic rounds then it was pretty quiet. Any 230gr ammo should work well I would think. You're still going to hear the action work and that may not have come through on the videos. I shoot 9mm supressed out of my Uzi and it's pretty quiet except for the supersonic crack!

THE NOISE IS COMING FROM YOUR ACTION. I have two silencers (22lr & .223) my host weapon is a single shot Contender Pistol.

In addition to sound suppression, silencers are superior muzzle brakes & superior flash suppressors.

wet means there is a fluid in the baffles to further cool and calm the gases.
