I carry four daily:

Trace Rinaldi Matrix fixed blade (its my workhorse and is used the most )
Ken Erickson Custom slip joint ( cuts like no other )
Strider PT CC
Case Sodbuster ( it's the loaner - that co-workers and others get to use when ask to use my knife ).

All solid choices!! Thanks everyone. I like the Spyderco Native because it's so lightweight - and tough. Yet, your choices have me thinking.

everyday I have my SwissTool on my belt (99% of the time I wear a belt)
my pocket knives rotate randomly among an old Case folder, a Cold Steel Recon One, TiLite, and XL Voyager.

A Spyderco Native with the GIN-1 stainless blade and a Victorinox Mechanic.

M'bogo

Swiss Army "Tinker" at work.
Case Amber Bone "Trapper" in CV when outdoors, or working around the house. used this knife to skin my last deer as matter of fact.
Buck 503 for sundays or when wearing slacks.
Native in s30v for out and about.

I like variety, and currently have a Case knife addiction.

My always "Always" knives are a pair of Wenger Esquires, one with serrated edge and eyeglass screwdriver, and the other with a red LED light and a small thumbdrive. I usually almost always pocket another somewhat larger SAK (2 inch main blade) of unnamed origin with SS slabs and the usual assortment of tools.

When security constraints are more relaxed (casual dress and not going into buildings with metal detectors) I'll have my Spydie Lava, green G-10 Delica, D4 with FRN, or Scorpius. If I know I'm not crossing borders into the People's Republik of D.C. or Maryland, I may up the blade length to a Massad Ayoob.

Benchmade 610 Axis PE like this one but with winewood scales.

If I need something lighter, it's a Spyderco Pacific Salt.

I also EDC a SAK Farmer or LM Juice S4.

Dang!

Lots of smart guys on this forum!!!

My EDC knife is . . . surprise . . . a Spyderco Native plain edge too . . . and I gave all three grown sons Spyderco Delicas for Christmas. GREAT KNIVES, and I like both of 'em equally!

Ummm . . . and I like my 1971 Model 37 Airweight .38 Spl. too, carried in a front pocket holster and/or this cherry, nickel-plated 1964 Model 36 Chief's Special.

Get good stuff and it is cheaper in the long run . . . because ya don't lose confidence in it . . . or break it and have to replace it!

Benchmade cqc6 tanto blade -- ats 34 steele. bought in 96 carried almost everyday.
but i love the syderco's ... especially the one you guyies keep showing! were to get one cheap?

Farmer, check out the list of reputable dealers here, but my personal favorite is NewGraham.

Daily is a Spyderco Military and a Spyderco Cricket in the pocket. When the Military gets too dull for me (still pretty sharp), it gets swapped to a Spyderco Lil' Temperance for a few days until it gets sharpened.

My EDC for the last 3 years has been this:

Hand forged from a leaf spring I took off the old car upside down at the back end of my property. 6" OAL, 2-3/8" blade. I have a small forge and dabble in crude hammer'n'tongs knife making. This EDC knife was profiled by hand with an angle grinder and given a partial polish. These days, I rarely profile the blades with a grinder anymore, relying solely on improving hammer control to turn out forge-finished knives for friends. Most of my knives are of this pattern, I call it Chameleon. A few more forge products below:

Benchmade Fecas Gamer in 440C. Light, slim, and capable.

To the poster above with the Ryan Plan B: Would you recommend it or not?

I like the Kershaw Leek and it has held it's edge very well over the 5-6 years I have had it.

I also have the smaller Scallion which actually gets a lot of use but the little plastic blade lock finally let go (too many trips through the wash).

I have a lot of knives. If I am just out and about then I rotate one of these:

Junkyard Dog II D2
Zero Tolerance 0500 Mudd
Timblerline Tactical 18 Lightfoot.

At work (hospital) I carry something lighter such as my Spyderco Native or a Browning Ice Storm.

Kershaw 1660ST also have a elcheapo Gerber skeletonized frame folder. Truck knife is the Recon Tanto by Cold Steel and also pack knife is my BuckMaster. Got it for Christmas back in the early 80's Love it and will one day be buried with it.
