Just bought a Spyderco Native seems like a very nice knive. S30v blade my favorite I did not know they used that Blade material. Does anyone have one and how is it holding up. So far Its my EDC. I am letting the Sebenza rest for a while. :D

You probably have a Native 2? Plastic handle? (Not the super-thick plastic handle of the Native 3?) That's a great knife, one of my very favorites.

Yes it does have the Plastic handle and S30v blade but not sure about the 1 2 or 3 version.

I have the Native III with the VG10 blade. I have had it two years now I think. It has the bigger handle, but it feels great in my hand. It did however take me a while to get it opening smoothly. I tried different oils, but nothing seemed to work, just kept opening and closing it until it finally loosened up.

Great knife though, I don't go anywhere without it.

The new ones with S30V are being sold at some Wal-Marts. I bought one, and it's great for the money but too small for me so I gave it away for X-Mas. :)

I gave a friend...well, actually, when I think about it I've given 2 friends- Native 3s. 5ptdeerhunter, everyone seems to have the same experience with the "3D". Great knife, but doesn't open smoothly at first.

Great knife, and mine was smooth from the start for whatever reason. I keep it slick with powdered graphite. Wife keeps stealing it, though.

Thanks John!

I'm carrying my Native 3-D in VG-10 today. VG-10 is just about my favorite steel because it's very stain resistant and is not too hard to sharpen (S30V is tougher for me). I spend a lot more money on knives than guns, so to my eyes the Native doesn't look very impressive (molded plastic handle, rivet construction instead of screws), but it feels great in my hand and cuts like heck - a great using knife and a nice value. Mine is a bit tough to open, but that's the way lock-backs with good, strong back-springs are.
