Trigger Pull on 238

New member, have read the thread on mags. Purchased the 238 Saturday. Did not notice how heavy the trigger pull was until taking it to the range Sunday. Do they all have a 12 lb single action trigger pull, or is mine somehow defective? It's hard to get as accurate a shot as I'd like straining with my trigger finger against that kind of pressure. I called Sig yesterday and they said to send it in, but also that they could not vary the trigger pull from the factory design, which most people "consider heavy" for legal reasons. My gun buddies say it will break itself in after a few hundred rounds. So, what's the average weight of your trigger? (My old Colt Mustang I estimated to be about 4 lbs, in comparison to this Sig 238.) Thanks. MikeyM

MikeyM: I've never measured my P238's pull, but I am certain it is nowhere near 12 lbs. If "12 lbs" is not an exaggeration, then you probably have a beef with Sig.

Hmmm....if you have to "strain" to pull the trigger...something is wrong. The Sig P238 is a breeze to shoot. Nice crisp trigger. As I have said before, follow up shots are also easy to do. It is very very accurate for such a little gun.

Thanks for the replies. I've called Sig, they said to send it in to them, and I'll be doing that UPS tomorrow. Thanks again. BTW, I used a scale to measure the weight at which it broke, and it varied between 10 and 12 on several measures. So, yeah, I'm sure they'll fix it. Sounds like I'll be very happy with it when it's back, if it feels like about 4 lbs to you all, which is what I was expecting. Mikey M
