My favorite: Rem 700 BDL- Stainless, .270 Win, with after-market stock, Leupold 3-9x scope, epoxy/pillar bedded. Yes, it shoots as good as it looks!

The light from the window didn't get the forend very well, but it has about the same appearance as the buttstock. She shoots exceptionally well too, but I don't load it for accuracy as much as for deer hunting, etc. It shot a sighting-in target at 100 yards with hunting ammo in the 1/2 minute range. Took a nice moose at just over 200 yards when sitting on my hunting stool...in the North Maine Woods. Had to shoot quickly, as it crossed a haul road, but "she" and I were up to the task.

Nice job and great rifle. All of my hunting rifles are 700s. I never had a problem getting one to shoot atleast moa. That being said the newer 700s are no longer on my radar but 700 type actions will always be...

I know the feeling of having a hunting rifle that you like and some hunters go their entire lifetime and never find a rifle they are happy with. Your choices in putting that rifle together really worked. Good rifle, good cartridge, good scope and good recoil pad. A+

I don't know why I keep calling her "SHE", because it feels quite manly and shoots strongly!!! In the several years I've owned it, it has performed better than any hunting rifle I've ever had...and I've had some very well-prepared ones. When it comes to hunting deer in Maine, Stainless rifles are best, because November comes hard, especially on guns (and hunters). JP

Reason for the old Weaver style rings?
I prefer the Burris Zee rings myself.

The old style big diameter knob Weaver rings are some of the sturdiest made, are repeatable as QD mounts in Weaver bases, and are very light. I use them on most of my rifles and have never had a failure, even on my heavy hitters with moderately large scopes.

I do dislike getting the scope reticle "squared".

That 700 270 sure could find a home here.:cool:

Nice for sure! I have a 700bdl in 270, had it for 2 years. But I've hardly shot it, gonna try see what it'll do this year. What bullet and load does it like for hunting?

That's unfortunate; I'm sure someday I'll see a good looking stainless steel rifle. But they are very utilitarian.
