Congrats! Looks like a nice shooter.

I have to ask though, is there something going on with the slide serrations? That first pic makes it look like the cuts or the finish is uneven there. Or is it a trick of the camera?

It's not an optical illusion. One side of each serration has a wave cut to it. It does nothing to negatively effect function, although they're almost too sharp right now (not quite, but almost).

What are you trying to accomplish with the weak side shooting? I’m not Shing there is anything wrong with it. I do it for grins every now and then. But you seem to be trying for more than that. Care to share?

I'm not sure exactly. Probably just a little psychological oddity. Since an early age I've played a game of trying to accomplish tasks with my non-dominant hand. Partly for the "what if I hurt it damage my dominant hand?" And partly just for the challenge. But there's often a practical aspect too. The world isn't terribly left hand friendly, so learning to do certain things right handed can be beneficial. I'm a welder by trade, and find it quite useful at work to be able to switch sides for certain position welds. As far as firearms and self defense goes, I see it as a benefit. Side note: I once got a serious infection in my left hand from a dog bite, and came dangerously close to losing it (or so said the doctor).

I have the slack take up, then if I increase pressure slowly enough, I feel a tiny bit of movement, and then a stop. Tiny bit more pressure and the trigger breaks.
The "creep" you feel is take up on the sear/hammer connection before it breaks. You need a little margin built in for safety unless it is a fun or gamer gun.

Thanks Walkalong. I will leave it as is. It's still a very nice trigger compared to most, if not all, my other handguns. Maybe the SBH is better, but probably not by much.

I tried a red dot on a 6" GP100. I didn't like it and took the optic back.

I'm no fan of optics on handguns-unless it's a Thompson Center Contender or some such to hunt with. Imo, a handgun should first be "handy". Some are worse than others but every "red dot" style sight I've seen and/or handled compromised the balance and "holsterbility" of most handguns and always complicated a clean and fast draw from concealed cover.

Irons for me on almost any handgun; the only question being fixed or adjustable sights. If you want rifle-like accuracy from a firearm, well, get a rifle. :)

My Mernickle holster for my Ruger SR1911 9mm Commander with red dot mounted in the rear dovetail fits the gun perfectly. There is no interference whatsoever. It appears from their catalog that most of their models accept red dots without problems.
